LATHE

                   We all know that a lathe is a machine tool but we do know all the fundamental rights now. we are going to see the full details about the lathe machine.Lathe was developed by hendry maudslay.It was found to do only a small work piece but now days many new machines had came we can see about it.

Parts of lathe

There are many  parts in lathe but we are going to see about the main important parts of the lathe  machine according to current trend:

• head stock
• tail stock
• bed
• carriage 

             saddle
             apron
             cross-slide
             compound rest
             compound slide

• lead screw
• feed rod
• motor
• step cone pulley mechanism

BED:

In this image the bed is the area where all parts are made to fit. The bed is main important part because it holds other parts of the machine. The bed is made up of cast iron because it can handle the weight and the vibration made in the machine

                There are three types of lathe bed guide ways:

• flat bed guide ways
• v bed guide ways
• gap bed guide ways

Head stock:

Head stock is rotating side of the lathe.It is used to hold the work piece and to rotate the work piece to clear the metal according to  given diameter.And the power is transmitted by step cone pulley  and other mechanism and there will be many levers to control the spindle

     H2,H3,-Speed control lever
     H4- Chuck adjustment in lathe
     H5-Extra gear adjustment

spindle:

spindle is the rotating shaft that rotates within the head stock  and the main important thing is the spindle rotation cannot be seen out. The spindle is covered by a chuck. many of them think that the chuck rotates but it is false the rotating power is transferred to chuck

thi is spindle hole or bore

TAIL STOCK:

tailstock is the an object which is used an object balance first but now days it is used as for doing an operation and the main concept of tailstock is to hold the work on the other side and it was first to put drilling in the lathe and it started as tapping and boaring in lathe and in tailstock we can remove the dead center the part which is sharp is the dead centre

 CARRIAGE :

         

  

And this part is called as carriage and it is used to move  the tool and it is the heart of the machine it is used to help the tool to move from one point to another and the main purposes of it is in the thread cutting operation because the thread cutting operation done by manual is not accurate and  it has some error in mesrment but the thread cutting operation done by the carriage is very perfect and accurate and by the parts of the carriage there are many uses the parts of the carriage

2. apron
3. cross slide
4. compound slide 
5. compound rest
6. thread chasing diaal
7. tool post

saddle:

      saddle is the part which is used to slide on the bed so it has a v-shaped a mouth so it can slide  easily it is the part must be lubricated always because it is a sliding part if rust occurs it leads to struck of the part and it is a useful part in a lathe and without this part the lathe cannot be operated because the main tool to is moved by this part ......

Apron:

    APRON

it is the pencil diagram of the apron on the machine..

apron is hidden part which cannot be seen because the apron is hidden behind the saddle the saddle is connected to the lead screw,feed rod,rack of the lathe the main functions of the apron is move the carriage automatically because the man can make some problem while machining but the machine can perform the accurate
